Gratitude

I am grateful for being able to live 52 years in a free country

I am grateful for being able to live 17 years free of the LDS cult

I am grateful I am not a Nazi....seriously, if I had had slightly different circumstances and followed the cultural orthodoxy of my faith, if some people had been slightly different parents I might be a Nazi right now; likely am in some alternate timeline

I am grateful for the EU and New Zealand; democracy is dying but the flame is not yet dead

I am grateful that Ukraine has survived 1000 days and hope it survives 1000 more

I am grateful I can write what I want right now

I am grateful I can protect the person I love and have somewhere safe to flee with her

I am grateful for my employment, frustrating though it may be that allows such a retreat

I am grateful for the time I have studied politics, as frustrating as stupid people are, because I know we can do better and likely will...eventually
