It's an old concept. Everyone claims to want it but how can they? Republicans only crave power like Sauron, and when boiled down to it, so do Democrats. (Dials down the sound of Howler Monkeys and resumes meaningful dialog.). Ignore the words and point to the behavior; Democrats focus on getting more and better democrats elected in the next cycle. They are a center right party that punches the hippies but thanks to Duviger's Law have a duopoly with a fascist party and I'm tired of it. Blue No Matter Who is a fucking stupid strategy. It's dumb. It's moronic and I'm not going to do it any more.
Am I done with democrats? Yes and no.
The 1789 constitution is the law of the land. People have it fixed in their tiny little minds that that's the only way to do anything just like they won't leave Facebook despite knowing its basically as toxic a cesspit for right wing garbage as Twitter its just that Mark Zuckerberg has the intelligence to keep his insanity to himself for the most part. So if we're going to fix things, we need to address the fact that in the United States the only two paths to power are Nazis and Incompotent Morons whose sole long term strategy is to point to Nazis and say, "We're not them" and then throw spaghetti at the wall and make gubbamint work "For da peoples." That's it, that's the democratic way.
So I can't be DONE with the party, but I have to take a step back and say...why do the democrats not work?
You can point to a million reasons; the 'disconnection from the worker' or you can say ' the dems didn't go on the nazi podcast' or you can say 'Identmaty polmatics' or you can say that the left can't compete with the right wing nazi media sphere. And all of these things are true; but all that boils down to one thing; money. Corruption and money. It's corruption that has fat disgusting democratic consultants bleeding the party dry like ticks; it's corruption that ensures that the AIPAC dems need to suck on that sweet money tit until anyone who has any ethics wants to vomit.
Money.
And Money means Capitalism.
But the lead opponents of Capitalism; Anarchists, Socialists and Communists are all so wired to their dogmas that they spend more time playing purity games than having any kind of strategy. Capitalism let's John Q Beer get his cereal and his flat screen TV and his records and his CDs....money makes the world go round. But most people aren't REALLY motivated by money; they're driven by needs that can be met with money. All three Anticapitalist ideologies are absolutely right that you can and should have a world that isn't driven by money, but the plans they have are esoteric and pie in the sky and involve evangelizing dogmas and ideologies that dont fucking work, because if they did; WHY ARENT ANY COUNTRIES FOLLOWING THEM?
The only successful attempt in history, the only fucking one, has been Communism and that was done at the point of a gun. And at the end of the day, the corruption and centralization got so bad that communism couldn't compete. (Insert more howler monkey cries about the USA cheating and the Soviet Union was actually a democracy and blah blah) I don't fucking care.
I would be a communist in a New York Second if it actually fucking WORKED. Communism vs Anarchism vs Socialism work as factions in a utopian government that is Post Capitalist, but as ideologies they have been around for more than a hundred years and not one has been able to compete at the ballot box against actual capitalism in a democratic society. And I know about Europe but I'm taking Socialists at their word that Social Democracies aren't socialism (I should know, the fucktards that drove me from the DSA gave me enough bullshit to make me think Socialism is a great influence for democracies but of the three primary anti capitalist dogmas its the most revolting for its adherents who apologize for Stalin more than any Communist I ever met combined).
So.
Not any of the Failed Three, what then? And I don't know. But I do know that doing nothing isn't working either. Capitalism is fucking broken. It is time for an alternative.
It is time for an Iterative Dogma Free Anticapitalist Economic System that must out compete Capitalism at its own game. Anticapitalism must defeat Capitalism the same way Capitalism defeated Communism in the Cold War. The thing I am still working out is; which is the best starting point, a Utopian Philospohy to Guide IDFAES (name pending) or just start leaping in how to do IDFAES? I have some pretty solid ideas on it, but I know history and IDFAES without an underpinning philosophy to give it context and meaning is likely to slouch into Capitalism again.
So.
Guess I'm going to become a fucking philosopher. I am not the strongest or the smartest or the most qualified but I keep looking around the room and Superman isn't coming. So that's what I'm working on.
When making something from scratch, you start with the end in mind. We want Star Trek. We want a democratic free stable post capitalist society where everyone has meaning to their lives, where technologies harmful to the human experience are regulated so capitalists can't Harry Mudd/Ferengi Fuck it up. And that means, as I said.
Star Trek has to work better to John Q. Beer than Capitalism. Capitalism is stupid. Everyone who isn't a nazi knows it to look at it, but no one is offering an alternative.
